A '''glolf club''' is an implement used to play glolf. A glolf club is characterized by a '''material''' and a '''number'''. Some glolf clubs, like famous swords, have earned nicknames and are woven into glolf lore.

==Glolf Club Classification==

Glolf clubs are classified by their material and number, as prescribed by a strict hierarchical taxonomy carefully crafted and maintained by a collective of glolf biologists. The taxonomy was developed in the early days of glolf and has been refined and handed down over many generations of biologists.

There is intense debate within the glolf biology community and among the wider glolf community about what, exactly, constitutes a glolf club. However, glolf traditionalists classify glolf clubs according to two dimensions: material, and number.

===Material===

Traditionally, glolf club materials were limited to two types:

* '''Wood''' clubs are high in entropy and are principally used in situations where unpredictability and chaos is desirable; glolfers often resort to wood clubs early in matches, or when attempting desperate come-from-behind wins
* '''Iron''' clubs are low in entropy and principally used in situations where precision and accuracy are critical; glolfers will utilize iron clubs in situations where they know precisely what is needed for their shot, in terms of distance, angle, wind, etc.

More recently, amateur glolf enthusiasts in the Core have begun to experiment with non-traditional glolf club materials, including:

* '''3D Printed''' glolf clubs
* '''Meat''' glolf clubs (specifically '''Bacon''' clubs)
* '''Fire''' glolf clubs
* '''Aluminum''' glolf clubs
* '''Bone''' glolf clubs
* '''Denim''' glolf clubs
* '''Ultra-Dense Fractionated Isotope''' glolf clubs

===Number===

Glolf clubs are further classified by their number, an attribute that every glolf club has when it is created. As with glolf material, traditional glolf clubs fall under two categories:

* small-number (lower density)
* large-number (higher density)

However, it has been observed that some clubs have numbers that drift over time, or have oscillating numbers. In some rare cases, glolf clubs have changed numbers mid-match, affecting the outcome of important tournaments.

===Traditional versus Radical Interpretations===

Debate over what constitutes a glolf club has gone on for as long as glolf has been a splort - possibly longer. The following is a helpful chart provided by the International Coalition of Concerned Glolf Scientists for people to refer to when arguments over glolf clubs get out of hand:
A '''glolf club''' is an implement used to play glolf. A glolf club is characterized by a '''material''' and a '''number'''. Some glolf clubs, like famous swords, have earned nicknames and are woven into glolf lore.

==Glolf Club Classification==

===Material===

* '''3D Printed''' glolf clubs
* '''Meat''' glolf clubs (specifically '''Bacon''' clubs)
* '''Fire''' glolf clubs
* '''Aluminum''' glolf clubs
* '''Denim''' glolf clubs
* '''Ultra-Dense Fractionated Isotope''' glolf clubs

===Number===

Glolf clubs are further classified by their number, an attribute that every glolf club has when it is created. As with glolf material, traditional glolf clubs fall under two categories:

* small-number (lower density)
* large-number (higher density)

However, it has been observed that some clubs have numbers that drift over time, or have oscillating numbers. In some rare cases, glolf clubs have changed numbers mid-match, affecting the outcome of important tournaments.
A '''glolf club''' is an implement used to play glolf. A glolf club is characterized by a '''material''' and a '''number'''. Some glolf clubs, like famous swords, have earned nicknames and are woven into glolf lore.

==Glolf Club Classification==

===Material===

* '''3D Printed''' glolf clubs
* '''Meat''' glolf clubs (specifically '''Bacon''' clubs)
* '''Fire''' glolf clubs
* '''Aluminum''' glolf clubs
* '''Bone''' glolf clubs
* '''Denim''' glolf clubs

===Number===

Glolf clubs are further classified by their number, an attribute that every glolf club has when it is created. Some clubs keep the same number their entire lifespan, while other clubs change their number; some clubs even have frequently-changing numbers. In some rare cases, glolf clubs have changed numbers mid-match, affecting the outcome of important tournaments.

As with glolf material, traditional glolf clubs fall under two categories:

* small-number
* large-number
A '''brassie''' glolf club is a club that is made out of wood and is small-number.
===Cleeks===

A '''cleek''' glolf club is an iron glolf club featuring a concave face.

* '''3D Printed''' glolf clubs
* '''Meat''' glolf clubs (specifically '''Bacon''' clubs)
* '''Fire''' glolf clubs
* '''Aluminum''' glolf clubs
* '''Bone''' glolf clubs
* '''Denim''' glolf clubs

===Number===

Glolf clubs are further classified by their number, an attribute that every glolf club is born with. Some clubs keep the same number their entire lifespan, while other clubs change their number; some clubs even have frequently-changing numbers. In some rare cases, glolf clubs have changed numbers mid-match, affecting the outcome of important tournaments.

As with glolf material, traditional glolf clubs fall under three categories:

* small-number
* large-number

'''Divination''' is an attempt to predict the outcome of a glolf game through metaphysical means, often involving household objects, playing cards, octopods, quantum mechanics, and/or videos of cats.

Glolf history has featured several famous predictions made through divination, including both predictions that were correct, and predictions that aged poorly. Many are commemorated and celebrated in popular glolf culture.
The clubs suit carries particular significance when divining using playing cards. Glolfers represented by the club emoji ♣️ are considered to be ''the best of the best''.
These glolfers are not to be confused with members of the [[Chicago Clubs]], represented by the bear emoji 🐻. Many of the Clubs' golfers are considered to be ''the worst of the worst''.

A '''glolf club''' is a collective of glolf players. Glolf clubs are characterized by a club name, a club emoji, and a club motto. Some teams even have a team chant, and are friends or rivals with other teams.

This page is a partial list of glolf clubs; it is not exhaustive, nor is it exhausting. It is also not exhausted, or exhaust, it is a list. This is ''not'' a list of exhausted clubs; for that, see [[Clubs (exhausted)]]
The '''Chicago Clubs''' are a glolf club hailing from Chicago. They are considered a cursed team, and currently carry the '''Curse of the Silly Goat'''.

==History==

For many decades in glolf's early history, the Chicago Clubs were dominant; the Clubs consistently won any tournament they entered, rose to the top of any league they joined, and developing a reputation for clutch performances in high-pressure situations.

Circumstances changed rapidly when reports leaked that the Chicago Clubs, Chicago's beloved hometown team, were considering relocating to Madison, Wisconsin. This came as a huge shock to the Clubs fan base. Clubs fans were widely known as diehard, loyal fans who would show up for glolf matches even in driving snow or howling wind. Clubs fans were understandably upset by the revelations, and in a famous incident, a famous Clubs fan named Silly Goat used salt to perform a ritual in which they placed a curse on the team.

Initially, the ceremony and the curse were laughed off by the Clubs glolfers. The Chicago Clubs went on to win the very tournament where the curse had been placed on the team. However, the outcome of the tournament was subsequently overturned when it was revealed that the Chicago Clubs were using cork-filled glolf balls. Silly Goat was vindicated, and the era of the Curse of the Silly Goat began.

To this day, Chicago Clubs fans will take up chants of "BLAME MADISON" or "DOWN WITH MADISON" during glolf tournaments.

The Curse of the Silly Goat is considered a Class 7 curse.
